This project was a really fun experience. It was a school gamejam in partnership with Rubika Valencienne, so we had 2 game designers, 2 game artists and we were 3 technical artist. For that project I was really focusing on shaders.
The theme was to take the title of an episode of the french serie "Bref.", and to adapt it as a game. We choose "Bref ma copine travaille dans un sex shop". We wanted something stylized that have some sort of hand painting effect, so I decided to challenge myself on that by creating a shader in HLSL. I only had the basics of hlsl.
I also created an outline based on the normals and the colors so it will react to shadows too using shader graph this time. And you could also recreate a fake light.
As we were doing a sexshop, we needed some neons in the scene. We wanted a shop that is a bit old and dirty so we wanted our neon to flicker.
